I'm new to tubs, but bought a pair of these a year ago. Since then I've ridden approximately 30 TTs of varying distance, including Spoco events in March. In that time I've had one very slow puncture and one other puncture, both of which were fixed with Vittoria Pit Stop. They don't seem to cut up or wear down. They are not as delicate as I would have thought and I worry about them no more than I do my clinchers (albeit I do only use them for TTs and warming up). Highly recommended.
